Gin Tonic

PRESENTATION

The Gin and Tonic is a very simple cocktail to prepare. It's a "build up," meaning it's made simply by pouring the ingredients into the glass: gin and tonic water. It's a popular choice as an aperitif or after dinner drink, and there's a true cult following for gin, as each gin is a world of its own (spicy, floral, with a strong juniper flavor...). We'll show you how to make this cocktail created in 18th-century England, served in the classic highball glass, flavored with lemon and juniper berries. Its fresh taste, with the aromatic hint provided by the berries and the citrus notes of the lemon (or orange if preferred), makes it a very pleasant drink to sip, especially for a summer aperitif.

How to prepare Gin Tonic

To prepare the Gin and Tonic, just pour the ice into the highball glass 1 and stir with the bar spoon 2. Then with the strainer, you can remove the excess water 3.

If needed, top up with 1 or 2 more ice cubes 4, before pouring in 1.5 oz of gin 5 and 3.5 oz of tonic water 6 until full.

Stir with the bar spoon, then add juniper berries 7 and a slice of lime 8 to the glass. Ready to serve a perfect Gin and Tonic 9!

Storage

It is recommended to consume as soon as it's ready.

Advice

We recommend pairing the Gin and Tonic with an aperitif featuring aged goat or cow cheeses, bruschetta with anchovies or smoked salmon, mixed fried snacks (fish as well as mozzarella bites or vegetables).
