PRESENTATION

Caprese tarts are a fun twist on those classic Campania flavors. And look, instead of the usual salad, you’ve got these caprese tartlets—with slices of tender mozzarella and juicy tomatoes on a flaky puff pastry. Really good stuff. They're all topped with fresh basil. You still get that classic taste from a caprese tart recipe, but in this mini, snackable form. Perfect for summer hangouts.

So here's the thing, the crispy pastry adds a unique texture. Sets it apart from your usual salad. In southern Italy, they love playing around with Caprese flavors—sometimes as fried bites, you know, or finger foods. But these tarts keep it simple—while packing in that Mediterranean aroma. No complicated techniques needed. Just the fresh, light taste and easy-going vibe. Seriously good when you’re craving something fun and not too heavy.

And you know what? A tray of caprese puff pastry tarts looks super inviting. Whether it’s a quick snack or the start to a laid-back dinner. These mini caprese tarts are great for parties or picnics because they hold up well. And taste moist and golden even at room temp. The combo of creamy mozzarella, ripe tomato, and basil baked into a little crust feels like summer in every bite. Folks in Campania focus on using what's fresh. So so fresh. These tarts really show that off.

You get that sweet, herby kick from the basil with the tangy tomato. And every bite is light, yet satisfying. Honestly, with so many ways to riff on the tomato mozzarella basil tart, there's always a new twist to try. From adding extra herbs to making them bite-sized for appetizers. Caprese-inspired tarts make it easy to bring a bit of Italian coastal flavor to your table. Whether you’re hanging out with friends or just want something different. It’s a creative and casual way to keep flavors feeling fresh and new, making every gathering feel a bit more special.

How to prepare Caprese Tartlets

To make the Caprese tartlets, first prepare the pastry bases: roll out the sheet of puff pastry and cut 6 circles using a pastry cutter with a diameter of 4.75 inches 1, then remove the excess pastry 2. Butter 6 tartlet molds of the same diameter 3

and place the puff pastry circles inside, pressing the edges well 4, then prick the base with a fork 5. Place a rectangle of parchment paper on each tartlet, cover it with baking spheres (alternatively you can use dried legumes) 6 and bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 15 minutes. After this time, remove the parchment paper and spheres and continue baking for another 7-8 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the ingredients to fill the tartlets: wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half 7, then cut the mozzarella balls in half 8 and finally into quarters 9.

After the baking time, take the tartlets out of the oven 10, let them cool slightly and remove them from the molds. At this point, you can fill the tartlets by arranging the cherry tomatoes alternated with the mozzarella balls on the surface 11. Season with a pinch of salt 12,

a drizzle of oil 13, a basil leaf, and a pinch of oregano 14 and proceed in the same way with all the others: your Caprese tartlets are ready to be served 15!
