Mixed Fried Fish and Vegetables

The air fryer fish fry is a light yet flavorful second course, ideal for those who love the taste of the sea without sacrificing a lighter preparation compared to the classic mixed fry. The dish features three traditional classics: shrimp, squid, and anchovies, each with its own characteristics.
Cooking in an air fryer allows for a golden and crispy coating with reduced fat content, without excess oil or lingering odors. The shrimp remain tender and flavorful, the squid retain their natural tenderness, while the anchovies, fragrant and savory, complete the dish with a bold note.
This version of the air fryer fish fry is perfect to serve as a second course or in a mixed appetizer, perhaps accompanied by a delicate mayonnaise or some lemon wedges. A lighter alternative to the usual fry, but with all the authentic taste of fish!

To prepare the air fryer fish fry, we recommend purchasing already cleaned fish, or you can clean them yourself following our guides: "how to clean shrimp", "how to clean squid", "how to clean anchovies". Prepare the ingredients for the coating: pour the flour into one bowl, the breadcrumbs into another, and the eggs into a third. Add a pinch of salt to the eggs 1 and beat with a fork 2. Now pat all the fish dry with paper towels and begin to coat the anchovies: first pass them in the flour 3.
Dip them in the eggs 4 and finally coat them with breadcrumbs 5. Continue in this way, placing them on a tray as you go 6.
Then start filling the air fryer basket with the breaded anchovies (we used an air fryer with a 6-liter capacity) and drizzle the surface with a little oil 7. The anchovies cook in the air fryer, on crispy mode at 392°F, for about 4 minutes 8. Do the same with the shrimp: first pass them in the flour 9.
Dip them in the eggs 10 and finally coat them with breadcrumbs 11. Place them on the tray as you go 12.
When you have breaded all the shrimp, place them in the air fryer basket, drizzle with a little oil 13 and cook at 392°F in crispy mode, for about 7 minutes 14. Finally, focus on the squid: cut them into strips about 3/4 inch wide 15.
Proceed in the same way for the coating: first pass them in the flour 16, then in the eggs 17, and finally in the breadcrumbs 18.
Place the breaded squid in the air fryer basket 19 and cook in crispy mode, at 392°F, for about 6 minutes 20. Salt to taste, spray with some lemon juice, and serve your air fryer fish fry immediately 21!
