Avocado toast

Fresh taste and everyday nutrition make avocado toast a real win for any family seeking quick breakfast recipes or even a satisfying lunch. A slice of hearty bread gets topped with creamy, mashed avocado and looks downright inviting with those green swirls—small touches like a sprinkle of salt or a splash of lemon really POP visually and punch up flavor. Most mornings, folks enjoy that soft texture, rich color, and the way every bite feels comforting yet modern. Healthy breakfast ideas don’t get much friendlier: real families like how each serving is pretty easy to plate up and always provides a rich breakfast experience that works for get-togethers, busy weekday mornings, or even just a little afternoon snack on the side. Lively add-ons such as tomatoes or poached eggs deliver little lifts in both taste and nutrition, keeping things fresh every time. Kids often like customizing theirs—and seeing those topping choices set out just looks great on the family table.

Busy mornings call for easy toast recipes—that’s why so many households return to avocado toast on repeat. Reliable nutrition comes with plenty of heart-healthy good fats from ripe Hass avocados (seriously DELICIOUS in any form) and enough creative space to satisfy fussy eaters or adventurous ones alike. Little changes like chili flakes or some cheese can transform snack time or keep a weekend brunch feeling special. Honestly, sometimes simple really works best: a classic sprinkle of sesame seeds or a quick drizzle of olive oil makes this staple feel upgraded in the most nice, everyday way. The endless variations also help home bakers stay out of food ruts while pleasing everyone—perfect for getting some nutrition in early or serving as an afternoon pick-me-up kids will ask for again. Serving ideas often include bright veggies, but sweet lovers will enjoy honey or berry toppings; either way, that soft avocado, crunchy toast, and fresh toppings make avocado toast a go-to for anyone wanting vibrant, reliable, fuss-free meals that never taste boring.

Preparation

How to prepare Avocado toast

To make the avocado toast, start with the avocado cream: cut the avocado in half 1 and remove the pit 2, then scoop out the pulp and transfer it to a bowl. Add the lemon juice to prevent it from browning 3.

Mash the avocado with a fork until it becomes a cream 4, then adjust with salt 5 and pepper. Cover with cling film in contact and store in the fridge until use 6.

Move on to the bread: heat a drizzle of oil in a pan 7, then place the slices of bread 8 and toast them on both sides. Set aside 9.

Now prepare the poached eggs: pour water into a pot, add the vinegar 10 and heat until it boils. Lower the flame and create a vortex with a spoon 11, then gently slide in an egg that you have cracked into a separate bowl 12. Cook for 3-4 minutes, without touching it.

Once the egg white has coagulated around the yolk, drain the poached egg with a slotted spoon 13 and transfer it onto a tray. Proceed in the same way with all the other eggs 14. You are ready to assemble your toast: spread the slices of bread with the avocado cream 15.

Add a slice of smoked salmon 16 and lay the poached egg on top, being careful not to break it 17. Finally, garnish with a few thyme leaves, a drizzle of oil, and some grated lemon zest: your avocado toast is ready to be enjoyed 18!

How to store

It is recommended to consume the avocado toast immediately.
