PRESENTATION

Soy sauce chicken is a flavorful and aromatic main course for a dinner with an Oriental taste.
The meat will be very tender thanks to the marination of chicken breast pieces in soy sauce with the addition of lime, ginger, wildflower honey, and paprika. Spices and flavors that make this version of sweet and sour chicken tasty and inviting, in a word, irresistible!
Soy sauce, very flavorful, has a high content of antioxidants and makes this dish rich in taste along with strong paprika, while ginger makes the dish fresher and more digestible, along with the lime zest. You can adjust the saltiness of this dish by adding more soy sauce to taste or a pinch of salt before finishing cooking your soy sauce chicken. You can pair it with pilaf rice and a side of steamed vegetables for a complete dish with a balanced taste!

Preparation

How to prepare Soy Sauce Chicken

To prepare the soy sauce chicken, start with the chicken breast 1. Remove the fattier parts using a knife and debone it if necessary. Then cut it into pieces 2 and place them in a large bowl for marinating. Add to the chicken pieces the soy sauce 3.

Then add the honey 4 (if you have solid honey, you can melt it by putting it in a pan over low heat, and then add it to the chicken once it has cooled down). Continue by pouring the juice of half a lime 5, the strong paprika (you can adjust how much to use based on your taste) and the crushed garlic clove 6.

Peel the fresh ginger with a knife to remove the skin and then grate it directly into the bowl 7; alternatively, you can use powdered ginger. Finally, grate the zest of a lime 8 as well. Now that you have added all the ingredients, mix to combine and cover the seasoned chicken with plastic wrap 9. Place the bowl in the refrigerator to marinate for at least 2 hours.

After the necessary time, pour a bit of oil into a pan and heat it slightly. Add the chicken you have taken out of the refrigerator, pouring it into the pan along with the marinating liquid 10. Cook for ten minutes over high heat, turning the pieces often, until the marinade has dried 11 and the honey caramelized. Salt is not included in this recipe, you can add it halfway through cooking, tasting the pieces (alternatively, you can add more soy sauce to make the chicken more flavorful). Serve the soy sauce chicken hot 12!

How to store

Store the soy sauce chicken in the refrigerator for a maximum of 1 day.
Freezing is not recommended.

Tips

Flavorful and with an Asiatic touch, soy sauce chicken is perfect served with a side of crunchy vegetables or with pilaf rice. As for the spices, well, it's up to your taste: you can adjust the spiciness by replacing strong paprika with sweet paprika or cayenne pepper.
