Enjoy them stuffed, Apulian-style gratin, simply au gratin confit, or in the most simple and genuine way, just like we show you in this baked tomato recipe. Discover how to prepare these delicious tomatoes with just a few simple ingredients: garlic, salt, pepper and a handful of aromatic oregano is all you need to serve a healthy and delicious side dish that exalts the unique flavor of fresh tomatoes.

INGREDIENTS
San Marzano tomatoes 6
Garlic 3 cloves
Extra virgin olive oil to taste
Fine salt to taste
Black pepper to taste
Oregano to taste

How to prepare Baked tomatoes

To make baked tomatoes, wash and cut the tomatoes in half lengthwise 1. Peel and thinly slice the garlic cloves 2. Place the tomatoes, with the cut side down, on a tray lined with parchment paper 3.

Cut some slices into the back of the tomatoes 4 and fill with the garlic slices 5. Drizzle with a dash of oil 6.

Sprinkle with salt 7 and bake in an oven preheated to 355°F (180°C) for 20 minutes. Remove the tomatoes from the oven 8 and turn them over one by one 9.

Drizzle with a little more oil, season with salt, pepper 10 and lots of oregano 11. Baked in the oven for another 20-25 minutes. The baked tomatoes are ready to be served at your table 12.

Storage

Store baked tomatoes in the refrigerator for a couple of days. Freezing is not recommended.
