Soy sauce chicken

INGREDIENTS

For 4 Servings:

  • 600 g chicken breast
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 20 g fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water (to dissolve the cornstarch)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp seed oil (like sunflower oil)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Chives or sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Cut the chicken breast into small cubes.
  • Peel the ginger and garlic, then grate them.
  • In a bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in 1 tbsp of water.
  • In another bowl, mix soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, and the grated ginger and garlic.
  • Heat the seed oil in a nonstick pan.
  • Add the chicken and sauté over medium-high heat for about 5–6 minutes, until golden. Season with a pinch of salt.
  • Pour the soy mixture into the pan with the chicken.
  • Let it cook for 2–3 minutes, then stir in the dissolved cornstarch to thicken the sauce.
  • Cook for another minute until glossy and well coated.
  • Serve hot, optionally topped with chives or sesame seeds.
